“WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?”

Has anyone ever said those words to you? Did one of your parents use those words to question something you had been involved in doing.

I’ve heard those words and as I think about what they mean the truth is evident,

“We were not thinking.” Had we been thinking we would have not have followed through on what initially was perhaps a quick reaction, not a plan. I heard those words when I was playing cards and I trumped my partner’s card.

My partner scowled at me and asked “What were you thinking?”

I could only reply, “I’m sorry.”

I listen to people of all ages tell me they are so busy, they don’t have time to read, write, see friends, or any of the other things they thought they would enjoy when they became an adult and had control of their own time. Now here’s a time for those words, “What were you thinking.” It doesn’t matter what age you are there is never enough time for the things you postpone, procrastinate about, delay, and obstruct, all by yourself.

So todays question is “What areyou thinking?”

  • Will you set a goal?
  • What are you going to intentionally change i.e. a habit, negative thinking?
  • What steps are you going to take to prove to yourself you are thinking.
  • What will the outcome look like?

Moving from “What wereyou thinking” to “what areyou thinking” is important for you, for your tomorrow and for who you strive to be.

May your day land Jelly-side-up
